Rota

Rota is a shift scheduling app for clinics that refuses to double-book anyone and says why in one plain sentence. Several organisations share the app but never see each other's data, and people sign in with passkeys under three roles: owner, scheduler and staff. It also has billing in Stripe test mode, an append-only audit log and a public API.

What it proves

  • Multi-tenant design: one app, many organisations, with isolation tested against every data function.
  • A conflict engine that blocks double-booking and explains the refusal.
  • Passkey sign-in and role-based access for owner, scheduler and staff.
  • Billing wired to Stripe in test mode, with signed webhooks handled.
  • An audit log that cannot be edited, and a public API described in OpenAPI 3.1.

How this adapts to your project

Replace the clinic rules with your own: shift lengths, rest periods, qualifications and weekly hour limits are the conflict checks that matter. Billing moves from test mode to your own Stripe account once you supply keys.
